Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry uses technology to make prosthetic teeth to mount on implants , suspend as a dental bridge, or as comforming denture to replicate the function and aesthetic following dental loss.

Restorative techniques are used to rebuild lost dental tissue from disease or trauma. Advanced adhesives are used to bond your choice of natural colored composites or precious metals to achieve the smile and function that you desire. Our techniques use stable synthetic materials to rebuild your teeth with a minimum of destruction to your remaining natural dental structures.

Materials and techniques used may include:
A- Tooth-colored restorative materials (composites and those incorporating fluoride).
B- Inlays; direct and indirect tooth-colored and gold cast.
C- Onlays; tooth-colored and gold cast.
D- Bonded restorations; silver, gold, and tooth-colored.
E- Dental implants.

Dental Crowns
A wide variety of crowns are available to replace lost tooth structure. You have the choice of precious metal or porcelain to achieve your desired appearance. Stable dental function is secured by cement adhesive bonding of the crown to the remaining dental remnant.

Inlays and Onlays
Tooth-colored restorations can also be constructed in a laboratory. The dental cavity is prepared in the usual way. However, a dental impression is taken instead of filling the cavity with a composite resin filling. The laboratory technician uses the impression to construct a tooth-colored inlay that is bonded into the prepared cavity. These types of restorations are particularly useful when the tooth substance has been severely diminished and providing too little support for a conventional filling.

Dental Bridges
A dental bridge is effective at camouflaging an unsightly gap from missing teeth. Furthermore, a well-performed dental bridge stabilizes unwanted tooth movement, gum problems, and occlusal interferences.

Porcelain Crowns
Porcelain crowns function similar to porcelain veneers. The main difference is that they cover the whole tooth. The cosmetic results are exceptional. Problems such as lost fillings, unsightly cracks, and discolored teeth following root canal therapy are superbly managed with a porcelain crown.

Dental Implants
Osseointegrated dental implants are one of the most sophisticated and advanced techniques used to restore a tooth that has been completely lost. A titanium metal screw is implanted into the bone of the tooth socket to integrate and act as a secure post for the synthetic crown. This method of dental restoration gives long term bone and gum stability. Not all patients are candidates.
